Test Date Transfers and Refunds

Test takers can request a transfer or cancellation through their IELTS test taker portal or through the links below. In requesting a refund, please provide your full legal name, venue location, test date, and reference number. Please contact us using the  same email address that you used in the online registration systems. The policies below follow the IELTS Canada Terms and Conditions agreed to at the time of registration.

IELTS Test Date Changes (Transfers)

Transfer Fees

• 15 days or more before the test date: 25% of test fee
• 6 to 14 days before the test date: 50% of test fee
• 5 days or less before the test date: No transfer available UNLESS you qualify for Special Consideration (see below).

How to Transfer your IELTS Test Date

IELTS on Computer, 

• Log into your IELTS Test Taker Portal. You must select a new available test date which is within the next three months from your original test date and pay the applicable fee to transfer your booking. 
• An administrative fee will apply depending on how long before your test you complete your transfer (please see "Transfer Fees" above).
• If you run into any difficulties with the process, please contact ILSC's candidate support email or phone line for assistance or alternate payment methods.

IELTS sur papier

• Please download the IELTS request for refund or test date transfer form  and fill it in. You must select a test date, where available, within the next three months from your original test date. 
• Return the form along with acceptable documentation* to the test centre by email by the deadline. 
• The centre will reply by email to notify you if your transfer is accepted, confirm available dates and Transfer Fee amount
• Payment of this Transfer Fee is required to complete your transfer. The Fee amount depends on when your form is received by the centre (please see "Transfer Fees" above).

IELTS Test Cancellations

Politique d'annulation

Vous pouvez annuler votre inscription au test IELTS à tout moment avant la date du test en informant votre centre de test. Les conditions de remboursement dépendent de la date d'annulation et de l'existence ou non de considérations particulières.

• Si vous annulez votre inscription au test IELTS plus de 14 jours avant le test : remboursement de 75 % du montant total du test
• Si vous annulez votre inscription au test IELTS dans les 14 jours mais plus de cinq jours avant le test : remboursement de 50 % du montant total du test
• If you cancel your IELTS test registration within five days of the test: no refund of test fee UNLESS you qualify for Special Consideration (see below).

 

Considération spéciale

If you need to transfer or cancel your test due to exceptional circumstances, you may do so by notifying your test centre up to 5 days after the test for IELTS on Paper and up to 2 days after the test for IELTS on Computer and providing Supporting Documentation*. Circumstances warranting Special Consideration include:

• des problèmes de santé graves qui vous empêchent d'être présent ou de travailler normalement le jour de l'examen ; ces problèmes doivent être justifiés par un certificat médical délivré par un médecin qualifié

• Le deuil

• Expérience traumatisante

• Crise intérieure

• Conditions météorologiques extrêmes

• Obligation légale ou militaire inévitable

Vous devez joindre des documents officiels à l'appui de votre demande. Aucune considération spéciale ne peut être approuvée après la publication des résultats. Le centre d'examen évaluera votre cas et vous répondra dans les 7 jours ouvrables suivant la réception de votre demande par écrit. Si le centre d'examen approuve votre exception, vous recevrez un remboursement complet, moins des frais administratifs s'élevant à 25 % des frais d'examen. Dans le cas contraire, la politique standard de transfert et d'annulation ci-dessus s'appliquera.

*Documentation de soutien

Pour bénéficier d'une considération spéciale, veuillez indiquer clairement votre raison sur le formulaire et joindre une preuve officielle, telle qu'un certificat médical délivré par un médecin qualifié, un certificat de décès ou une lettre d'avis de service militaire. Les justificatifs doivent parvenir à votre centre d'examen au plus tard 5 jours après votre test pour l'IELTS sur papier et au plus tard 2 jours après le test pour l'IELTS sur ordinateur.
