L'IELTS comporte deux versions : Academic et General Training. Le test académique est destiné à ceux qui veulent étudier au niveau tertiaire dans un pays anglophone. Le test de formation générale est destiné à ceux qui souhaitent acquérir une expérience professionnelle ou suivre un programme de formation, faire des études secondaires ou émigrer dans un pays anglophone. Tous les candidats passent les mêmes tests d'écoute et d'expression orale, mais des tests différents de lecture et d'écriture.

Format du test
L'IELTS comporte quatre parties : écoute (30 minutes), lecture (60 minutes), écriture (60 minutes) et expression orale (11-14 minutes). La durée totale du test est de 2 heures et 45 minutes. Les tests d'écoute, de lecture et d'écriture se font en une seule fois. L'épreuve d'expression orale est passée séparément, généralement le même jour que les autres parties du test. Le test d'expression orale est une conversation avec un examinateur IELTS certifié. L'épreuve d'expression orale se compose de trois parties : des questions introductives, un exposé de 2 minutes sur un sujet donné et une discussion. Il dure environ 15 minutes et est enregistré sur un magnétophone numérique.
VCS est l'abréviation de Video Call Speaking. Le format, le contenu et la notation du test sont exactement les mêmes que ceux du test d'expression orale en présentiel, à la différence que la salle de test est équipée d'un ordinateur permettant de se connecter à l'examinateur via Zoom. You do the Listening test first followed by the Reading and Writing components of the test. Your speaking will be either before or after the written sections for IELTS on computer. You will find out if speaking is first or last when you register.
The Listening, Reading and Writing components of the test are always completed immediately after each other and with no break. The Speaking test is almost always taken on the same day except in emergency situations.
A detailed email confirmation with Speaking Test time and location is provided three days in advance of your test; this email is different from the “no reply” email provided at time of registration.

Yes. At the beginning, you hear instructions. Then you read section 1 questions, listen to section 1 and answer the questions. There will be another brief pause before each section.

Yes, ILSC provides headphones with individual volume control for the listening portions at all venues.
Only transparent water bottle with no label. You must bring the passport/national identity card you used on the IELTS Application Form to the test. You must leave everything else outside the examination room. Mobile phones must be switched off and placed with personal belongings in the area designated by the supervisor. If you do not switch off your phone or keep it on you, you will be disqualified. Please note that watches, phones, other electronic devices, jackets and hats are also not allowed in the test room.
Yes. You will be given scrap paper to make notes if you wish before entering your answers into the computer.

You must bring the same identification document you supplied on your IELTS Application Form and used for the rest of the test. Your ID will be checked before you enter the interview room. The Examiner will provide you with a pen and paper during Part 2 for making notes during that section of the IELTS Speaking Test.
If you postpone or cancel your application more than 5 days before the test date, you will receive a refund minus an administration charge. If you postpone or cancel within 5 days before the test date, you will be charged the full fee unless you have a medical reason. If you provide a medical certificate by 5 days after the test date, you may receive a refund minus administrative cost. The Centre will review your case and will inform you if approved.

If you are away on the test day with no prior notice, you will lose your full fee. However, if you provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the test date, you will be allowed to transfer your test to a future date for a fee or be provided a partial refund.
